7. The Rise of Technology in the Classroom

http://www.teacherportal.com/infographics/edutech-classrooms.html

This is an article about the use of technology in k-12 classrooms.  It argues that technology has made students attention span very short and it is forcing teachers to make their classroom activities more engaging.  It discusses how it influences the teachers curriculum and the students learning processes.  It also discusses what kind of technology is being used such as cellphones, tablets, e readers and SMART boards.

Personally I love that technology is an important part of the classroom.  There are many things that a teacher can do or show students using technology that could have not been done before.  I think it is amazing that students, as young as kindergarten, can use complex tablets and computers.  I do agree slightly that technology has made students have a shorter attention span but they just need to find things that is interesting for them to do and there are many things on the internet that can sate the attention of the student.
